.hack//G.U.
is a new three part series, that takes place after the original
4 game series. The original MMORPG 'The World' had to be
shut down due to a fire at the CC Corporation building,
CC Corp. managed to save some of the data from 'The World'
and merge it with a brand new project, which they call 'The
World R:2'.
After players of 'The World' found out that their character
data had been lost, many people quit the game, while some
others still continued on with this new world, under new
identities. Guilds started to pick up, and popular ones
were at war with each other, choosing a side, and PKing
anyone who wasn't under their guild, which lead to a large
increase of Player Killers in The World.
.hack//G.U. focus's on Haseo, an Adept
Rogue, and he will be the main character. On Haseo's first
adventure, he was ambushed by PKers, but was saved by Ovan,
a Steam Gunner. Haseo later on joined Ovan's guild called
Twilight Brigade, and in that guild he met someone special,
Shino.
After only playing The World for eight months, Haseo became
known as "The Terror of Death", a powerful PKer.
His goal was to bring a PKer known as Tri-Edge out of hiding,
so killing PKer after PKer was his only option to draw his
attention.
Haseo's mission is to find out why
his close friend Shino had fallen into a coma after being
PKed by Tri-Edge. Holding a grudge against everyone in his
path, and stopping at nothing to uncover the truth. On his
search for the truth, Haseo manages to make friends with
new players, one in particular named Atoli, who resembles
Shino in more ways then looks.
