New .hack//Portal Project!

Hey guys so here is the deal. .hack//Portal will be opening a brand new .hack// site.

Why am I telling you guys about this and not Icy or Arimi? Well cause I can ^^; ok so not really but I can. The thing is the .hack// site will be an RPG. IT will end up being forum based, have items, an inventory, money, and anything else me, Icy, and Arimi can think up and script.

So what is this new site I am talking about? Well the name will be...The World RPG. It will end up being owned by me, Icy, and Arimi.

So why am I telling ou guys all this when the site isn't even finished? Because we need your help! We need items for the site. *nods* Mostly what we are looking for is items from the series.

If you manage to make any send me a PM or you can email me at buni@animeinformant.com with a link to the images. By submitting images you will get certain perks on the website along with the item that you made and a little extra site cash :D

Nice. You know there is a good RPG system out with a user modded release that works with Woltlab Burning Board and vB 3.x?
The RPG system is Dragon Knight. Problem is, the modded release is for older versions of WBB that may not be available anymore. And since I haven't gotten my hands on a recent vB 3.x release to test with (modding and such) I can't say for certain if it will work with more recent vB 3.x versions. I can send you a link if you want to take a peak at it and modify it to suit your needs. It's a good way to start off the project and have a guide to building the project. You can also get the official releases or other stand-alone modded releases.
I'd be willing to participate in the development of this project too. I know some PHP and the source of Dragon Knight is easy to follow. I know a little bit of MySQL as well (sorta have to in order to run my own game servers).
The other RPG system I know is ezRPG (which is the one I refered Icy too... I think. Correct me if I'm wrong Icy), though its more battle than adventuring, but has no current modded releases that can integrate with a forum system. Source of ezRPG is also easy to follow.
Also, it would be a good idea to know what attributes you currently have in your RPG system for item development, such as Fire, Water, ... etc. (Yeah, haven't played .hack in a while... sue me. lol)

Well see the thing is it will be a completely seperate website. It wont be intregreated into any website.

It has been a while since I used burning board, but even when I did use it, and had an RPG hack with it, I recall it being very buggy and unstable. I also don't recall there being any updates for it.

That being said, this is a different project, a separate site where people can register, log in, chat in a built-in forum, earn money, have your own personal e-mail, much like in The World.

Buni can fill you in on all the details of this project, and outline all it will have to offer.

Curious...When you say you need item names I suppose that you mean stuff like Emporer's Soul and the like. Or do you want the G.U. series item names? Either way, what I was getting down to was (and this is a difficult thing to say, seeing as you can't see my face or anything) just what items do you need. I know that you may be thinking ("may be" because it's hard enough to read minds of those near to you, much less across the net) "well, if I knew I wouldn't need the names!" but what I'm trying to get across is do you need weapon names, item names, armor, et cetra. Just wanted to be clear.

In just a couple of days I should be able to open the site for beta testing for the .hack//Portal members.

Nope it will be totally free.

Although there will be a section to where you can donate and by doing so you will get access to a special area for the month you donated along with an item (once we get more items ^^;)

If I can get Icy to make just a couple more graphics and I can sort out some coding problems I will open it to the users of .hack//Portal and Anime Informant.
