As many of you have probably noticed, the main-site has not been updated in a while. .hack is such a large franchise, many games, many shows, and a large abundance of music.

There is just too much work for a team of two to complete, especially when our time is always tied up with other things like real life or other projects. I would like to resume my work on portal after a considerable break due to my husband and I getting a house.

With that being said, Portal really does need some help. I can't handle all the work myself, its very overwhelming! Please consider being a writer for the website, content manager, quality assurance, media hunter, news hunter, etc.

There is a lot to be done!

If you are interested in making contributions to Portal for long-term, please PM me. You will automatically become apart of the official .hack//Portal staff once you've made your first contribution. Over a year ago I posted this in regards to help on the main website. Without the main site, the forums would never exist, no one would get all the information they desire about .hack, or get to know everyone here as an awesome dothackers community, the only place where the cake isn't a lie.

I need help. I want to make this website last, and never want to have to take it offline due to lack of interest or being overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work it still needs. I am missing a lot of content, however I have ideas to improve the productivity of content addition, adjusting, media management, and news updates.

I require people with the knowledge of coding, and those who do not. People who have been here for a long, long while and who can spare some time a couple times a week (or more) to help with improving our website.

So, if you have coding experience, particularly with Drupal, send me a PM or e-mail. If you don't have these kinds of skills, I can most certainly still find a job for you. I rarely ask for help with my websites, or collaborate a crew of staff to help assist me, however that's all going to change.

I haven't forgotten about this big overhaul, just so much has been happening in my life, and I apologize.

Starting Monday I am slowly going to begin working on the overhaul. Getting ideas ready, and all that jazz. If anyone back when I first talked about needing content, coders, news editors, translators (translation team still thetre?) is still interested, please re-send me a PM. A position for the following need to be filled asap!

- Lead news Editor (The head editor for the website, who will look over all other editors and keep them on track, while supplying superb news themselves)

- News Editor (In charge of posting all the latest news for .hack)

- Lead Content Manager (In charge of leading anyone who is a content supplier, to ensure all content is 100% unique and accurate)

- Content Supplier (Supplies content for our website(s), not just any content, but accurate, and unique content.)

- Coder (Will most likely work close to arimi since she is the ultimate code wiz, and support her with any coding needs, a great learning experience as well)

- Designer (Will most likely work close to myself and support me with graphical needs on the main site and forums, while learning of course)


Look it over, all these positions need to be filled, there can be several people in each category. Special forums will be setup just for website communication, and possibly skype and or other voice chat options so we can work better as a team.

Yes, and those who have been kind enough to offer help for this overhaul in the past, I give thanks however I was still absent back then. I was going through a lot trying to find a job, while in a brand new place to live, and going through a divorce all at the same time.

I finally found a great job that supports not only myself very well but also whom I am living with, and the hours are great, and I find myself not nearly as tired when I come home, which means more time to dedicate to the website.

I am also letting one of my other websites expire, for it is too big for me to manage anymore, which also means more time for Portal.

Again I apologize if I got your hopes up last time, but this time I mean it, and want to give Portal back some life, a facelift!

I'd say very serious considering remodeling is well underway already, to a new CMS system vs. the old hand-managed coding system we had earlier.

omg i forgot about that. Yea, Icy, you should look at his album. I ended up having to give more slots (sill same space, but no pic limit so small ones to end up maxing them out), anyhow, he has some good stuff in there.

I tried offering a full archive file full of Altimit OS backgrounds based off of the .hack//IMOQ games last year. They're not watermarked, so you don't have images advertising a website. Got no reply back saying yes or no to the archive. I even have some original wallpapers from the old .hack official website before they went to G.U. Most of them being SIGN characters. The SIGN wallpapers can't be downloaded from the official site anymore since the move to G.U, so it makes it really good for DHP and collectors that visit the DHP main site (once its up).

I could help out with the weapon listing, especially the rare weapons (I have Elf's Haven filled with rare equipment on one of my Quarantine files). I'm not great at writing, so reviews would be out though.

Hired! If you wanna start working on weapons lists you are more than welcome to. At the moment the site is inaccessible to non managers, so jot what you want in notepad and pm it to icy and i. Or hang on tight as we will be up tonight or tomorrow.

Heh. Should have seen me download the stuff when the official .hack website was still in its "SIGN" and "IMOQ" phase, before Roots and G.U.

I was like the guy on Family Guy going "OH! A piece of candy!". If it was sound, video or images and I could find a way to download it, I did. Did that with the StarCraft II planets page... they had SWF files, and I found a way to download them for my upcoming StarCraft II fansite.
At one time, I provided Net-Slum (while it was under Icy's control) with the missing soundtracks that she had not yet ripped or didn't have the CD yet (I think it was the latter case). *goes into a flash back* good times... anyways... yeah... I'm one of those collectors... if i can get my hands on it, I tend to download it. I'm just surprised I don't have as much stuff for .hack when I was going through the obsessive phase over .hack some few years ago. I'm just glad that my obsessive collecting came in handy for DHP. It's rare I my collective/obsession is actually helpful, however big or small it may be. I'm also glad that DHP also provides this rare stuff. Gives them an edge over fansites that haven't or can't get a hold of the content that DHP gets. (Take that fansite posers!) *cough*

I have a quick question (I didn't know whether to PM it or post, so I'm posting it here). I just finished going over all my IMOQ files and finished up with the Rare Weapon listing. Should I cross reference my list with a couple walkthroughs online to see if I got them all (all the rare weapons)?

So, 'nother question. Can we work together on articles? I mean like, two people working on one article together? Because I'm more familiar with Project .hack than I am .hack Conglomerate, and some potential articles span both halves of the franchise.

Of course! Just get in contact with whom you want to work on an article with, and as long as you both don't work on the same item at the same time, both parties can make updates to an article. If two or more people try to edit an article, the first person who accesses it will be able to edit, however the other two will get locked out.

As for donations, I only received a donation from Arimi, so I took it down. I will probably add it up again since it never hurts. The hosting bill isn't too harsh, never bad enough to beg the community to donate to support it, but donations would be welcomed to help with contest prizes, hosting, and anything else the site may need like programs and such.
