Flu is a virus so antibiotics don't work..
I've never had flu, or been particularly ill, but I reckon a warm bed, and shower maybe and a hot-water bottle. Lots of tea.. and sugar http://dothackportal.com/forums/images/smilies2/smile.png Tea contains a lot of water, so it'll keep you hydrated and its hot.

Actually due to the caffeine in tea, it can dehydrate you if you aren't drinking enough water. Something that will help to dull some of the symptoms is Peppermint. Peppermint has a pain relieving property that will help a sour throat, it also helps up-set stomachs, and can even help to clear your nose. Again to help with a sour throat, drink something warm with honey in it. I would warm milk with honey, but you should be aware that drinking milk can cause you to have to clear your throat more often which can cause further damage. Because of the consistency of milk, it can cause even more mucus to run down your throat and into your lungs.
If you are having trouble sleeping because you can't seem to breathe through your nose, then try laying on your back to sleep if you don't already, it can relieve a lot of the pressure, but at the same time it will cause the mucus to run down your throat. Also, avoid harsh temperature changes as this can aggravate your current condition and also promotes fevers. Harsh temperature changes can through your weakened body into shock, so be careful. It's also good to keep a cold compress on your forehead, if you do not have access to a cold compress, then an ice pack will work. Just be sure that it's a gentle cooling. I suggest crushing up some ice cubes and putting them in some tin foil, when you do that, be sure that you seal all edges by folding them over. After that, put the tin foil ice pack into a zip-lock bag and make sure there isn't extra air inside. Then wrap it in a washcloth so that it isn't too cold. The foil will keep the ice from melting too fast, and it will also form to your forehead.
Hope all of that babbling helps!
